Why Invest in Shutters?

Once installed, they are considered a permanent fixture, and thus add value to your home. Plantation shutters increase your home’s energy efficiency as they are installed in such a way that they seal right up against the window frame. Shutters are durable and very easy to maintain; Properly maintained shutters can last for decades.

Unlike most other window treatments, window shutters lack a headrail and stack back. They open completely for an unobstructed view. Cordless options are always the safest choice for homes with children and pets as they are always 100% cord-free. You’ll enjoy excellent light control with shutters. Tilt the louvers to enjoy privacy and natural light at the same time. Window shutters are also incredibly versatile; We can fit them to most window sizes.

Our Brands

We’re proud to carry only the very top brands of window shutters, including Design Shutters, Hunter Douglas, Graber, and Norman®.

Design Shutters

Design Shutters has the expertise that comes only with more than 25 years’ experience crafting plantation shutters. The brand manufactures only authentic wood shutters, which allows 100% of the focus to be on a single product. Every shutter is custom made to ensure correct spacing of the panels for a professional look. Design Shutters offers four louver sizes ranging from 1 ⅞’ to 4 ½’. Smaller louvers are ideal for more traditional decor, while a larger slat size will give you a fresh, contemporary look. While exotic wood options are available, most shutters are created using North American Basswood. This hardwood is kiln-dried and resists shrinking and warping. Choose from 26 colors or opt for a custom color.

Graber

Graber Traditions® Interior Wood Shutters offer unsurpassed elegance and beauty only available from 100% North American hardwood. Graber uses a unique three step drying process and adheres to the strictest of quality standards. Their wood shutters are hand-finished using vivid stains and eco-friendly, water-based paints for a dazzling finish. Graber is committed to using sustainable practices by using recycled sawdust and wood shavings to produce heat necessary for drying wood and warming the manufacturing facility.

For the appearance of wood with more durability and less upkeep, Graber® Traditions Interior Composite Shutters are an excellent choice. Faux wood shutters feature a rigid, composite construction which means less flexing from temperature changes. Graber faux wood shutters are fire resistant and ideal for high-traffic areas of your home

Graber offers several styles of both their wood shutters and faux wood shutters. You can create a classic look with the standard panel style. The cafe style, which covers the bottom of your window and allows for ample light and complete privacy, looks fantastic in kitchens. Another popular style is the double-hung variety. The top and bottom of double-hung panels operate independently of one another for the ultimate convenience, privacy, and light control.

Hunter Douglas

Heritance® Hardwood Shutters are ideal for those who admire a traditional, classic style. Heritance® wood shutters are crafted using basswood or poplar, both of which are rapidly renewable resources. Hunter Douglas also donates to the Arbor Day Foundation® with every hardwood product purchased. Truemill® dovetail construction creates shutters that are incredibly strong and structurally sound. The interlocked components are more reliable than the standard glue and dowel method used by some competitors. Create shutters that perfectly match your decor using one of more than 35 finishes. You can also have a custom color mixed just for you.

For an elevated shutter, explore the Handcrafted Series. The series offers six designer techniques that enhance the inherent beauty and color of hardwood. Select from hand-glazed shutters, a rustic look with carefully arranged knots, mineral streaks, and growth rings with a textured finish that adds contrast and depth.

Palm Beach™ Polysatin™ shutters are made using an innovative material that resists UV damage, warping, cracking, and fading. Palm Beach™ shutters are also impervious to moisture and mildew, making them excellent for rooms with high humidity like kitchens and bathrooms. Faux wood shutters from Hunter Douglas are made using interior aluminum bracing and resin blocks so you can rest assured your shutters are built to last. Choose from three stunning colors that feature the DuraLux™ Finish. This specialized process creates the look of finely painted wood shutters with a matte finish.

Hunter Douglas also offers hybrid shutters. NewStyle® Hybrid Shutters deliver the rich appearance of wood with the strength and easy care of faux wood and are high-traffic households. NewStyle® shutters are made using the same Truemill® dovetail construction as Heritance® Hardwood Shutters. The shutter components are created using a wood composite with an innovative polypropylene coating for added durability. Your hybrid shutters will also have SoftClose™ Louvers that close gently after reaching a preset angle. The addition of the Quick Align™ system features preset louver positions to make aligning your shutter panels easier than ever.

Norman®

Woodlore® Shutters are made with a wood composite that delivers industry-leading durability and density. The composite material makes Woodlore® Shutters more stable and robust than hardwood shutters. A medical-grade polypropylene coating provides protection from scratches, fading, and yellowing. Norman is committed to preserving our environment using EcoSmart Wood Composite that is made with specialty MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) that makes use of 95% of every tree harvested. Norman® Woodlore® Shutters are VOC-safe and CARB compliant for off-gassing, and like all Norman® products, they are free from lead and soluble heavy metals.

You can upgrade your Woodlore® Shutters with the Woodlore® Plus line. The plus collection uses lightweight ABS, a material often used in car parts and helmets, for its louvers. A process of multiple sanding and paint sequences delivers an impeccable finish. The shutters are available in over 25 colors and custom shades. A waterproof option is also available for shutters that will be hung in damp environments.

Normandy® Shutters are made from luxurious hardwood. The Paulownia hardwood used has gorgeous wood graining and is wood conditioned. This conditioning process sets a custom moisture level in the wood that is best for the shutters’ destination, and results in less shrinking and swelling after installation. This leads to one of the best strength to weight ratios available in shutters. Quarter sawn louvers are used instead of straight sawn louvers to deliver a tighter grain that resists twisting and cupping.
