Bee Cave is a small city in Travis County Texas. It has a population of close to 4,000 people, and it is located 12 miles west of Austin. As you may have guessed, the town was named Bee Cave to warn travelers of a large cave full of bees in the area. In 1870, the Bee Cave Post Office was opened and the town was incorporated in 1987. Today, Bee Cave is home to many small businesses, family-owned restaurants, and a local apiary or two.
