An Overview of the PowerView App

Convenience is the new way of life for most of us. Technology has increased our access to information and control over our finances, devices, appliances and many other aspects of our lives. PowerView® Motorization from Hunter Douglas has brought the modern convenience we look for to our window coverings. With motorized treatments, you no longer have to reach over furniture or stretch to handle a tangled cord. You can easily control your shades or blinds with your mobile device.

An Overview of the Hunter Douglas PowerView App Near New Braunfels, Texas (TX) for Window Treatments

Once your PowerView® window coverings are installed, your next step is to install the app on your phone or tablet. For Apple devices, you’ll navigate to the app store and Android users will go to the Google Play Store to search for “PowerView® App.” This app works with the PowerView® Hub that connects to your home’s wireless network and communicates with your window treatments.

The application is organized into four sections: Shades, Rooms, Scenes and Schedules. Each of your Shades are automatically discovered. Once they are recognized in the app, you can name them and assign them to their correct Rooms. Setting these functional features prepares you for the use of Scenes. This portion of the app allows you to position all the Shades in your Rooms as you like them with just one touch. You can also coordinate the Scenes for all the rooms to control every window covering with a single touch. Schedules then lets you set your Scenes to run automatically at a certain time.

With Schedule, you can optimize the efficiency of your home with the operation of your shades at the brightest parts of the day. But if you don’t have a schedule set and realize you forgot to adjust the shades before taking a trip or leaving your home, you are still covered. With the RemoteConnect™ feature, you can activate Scenes from anywhere as long as you have a wireless Internet connection. Whether you are at work and the weather isn’t what you expected or you are on vacation and realize you left a window covering open showing your possessions in plain view, you can easily make an adjustment with a single touch.

As you setup your PowerView® App, you’ll have to keep your PowerView® Shade Network in mind. This means that all components related to your motorized window treatments have to be part of the same network. Usually, the network I.D. will be automatically assigned when you follow your device’s instructions. If you have any issues, Hunter Douglas’ manual offers troubleshooting tips to help you solve the problem.
